About Me
To create great images we have to learn to see the world - it requires, timing, perseverance, an appreciation of the subject, but most of all it requires an understanding of light.
My photography captures moments and explores the world. I am an opportunist photographer capturing the scale, wildness, beauty, grandeur, the people, adventure and much more.
My images have featured in fine art exhibitions, magazine front covers, articles, websites and advertising campaigns for international companies. In 2015 I was photographer for the watchmaker Loomes & Co and the Mountain Trust Charity to capture the journey of four handmade watches to the summit of Everest. In 2017 I was the ‘Official’ photographer' to the Royal Gurkha Everest Expedition. Other commissions include 'Trek and Mountain' and 'Outdoor Fitness' magazines, ‘Invesco Perpetual’, Malta Tourist Board, Jagged Globe and Mountaineering Ireland to name a few.
I am also an author of mountaineering, climbing and kayaking books and a writer/technical editor for 'Trek and Mountain' magazine. I lead a photography project for Hafal (Adveraid) helping people recovering from serious mental illness sponsored by Carmarthen Camera Exchange.
Currently I am working on two Photography books - 'The Khumbu' and 'Being Adventurous'.
Filming projects include the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, ’24 Productions’ and ‘Two Four productions’.
I am available for lectures/talks about photography in wild places. I also run bespoke 1:1 and small group workshops.
